Cebu

       Cebu City is the first city in the Philippines. It is the capital of the province of Cebu. Cebu City has a land area of 291.2 sq. kilometers and 60 sq. kilometers of Cebu City is classified as urban area and 235 sq kilometers is rural.

   In late 1520's Rajah Humabon was the king of Cebu. In 1521, he welcomed Ferdinand Magellan in Cebu. Ferdinand Magellan was killed here in Cebu by a Muslim King, Datu Lapu-Lapu in the Battle of Mactan.

   Today, Cebu City was one of the progressive cities here in the Philippines. Tourism and the entry of BPO or business process outsourcing also help for the better growth of the economy of the city.
